Situated in southern Burgundy , Charolles , city of Charles the Bold and former capital of the County of Charolais, retains many vestiges of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
This town is the origon of the Charollais breed of cattle a breed that is known worldwide. These cattle provide much of the quality meat found in the sounding restarants and markets. The cows are recognisable by there distinctive white coat.
Charolle recently came to the attention of lovers of organ music with the installation of the churches beautiful pipe organ. The Church hold 450 people, and is ideally suited due to the building having excellent acoustics.
